William Annie Haggard was born on 28th August 1896 in Adelaide, South Australia (Australia).
He was the third and youngest son of Henry Haggard and Annie Louisa Sanderson.
His mother died shortly after his birth and his father married again the following year.
His father died in 1903, leaving him to be raised by his step-mother, and older sister and brothers.
William married Ella Muriel Elliott (1905-1996).
Aged 66 years, he passed away on 6th February 1963 in Queensland.
